Hosted by Louisiana-Pacific in East River, Nova Scotia on October 29, 2008, the CIPEC meeting was an excellent session that included a good mix of technical content, information on NRCan and Nova Scotia Power programs, a plant tour and open discussion about future CIPEC business activities. Overall, approximately 40 industry, government and utility representatives took part in the event. Companies that sent representatives included: Louisiana-Pacific, Harris & Roome, Second Source Power, Clearwater Seafoods, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, Scanwood Canada, Maritime Paper Products, Farmers Dairy, Michelin, Eco-Efficiency Centre, NewPage Corporation, AbitibiBowater, Source Atlantic, Nova Scotia Power, MapleLeaf Foods, Shaw Resources, Oakhill Sawmill, High Liner Foods, Shaw Pipe, Acadian Seaplants, Comeau Lumber, IMP, Eddy Group, ACA Co-operative, Minas Basin Pulp and Power, Nedco Atlantic, Stantec, Colchester Regional Development Agency and I.B.Storey.

The CIPEC Atlantic Taskforce is organizing energy efficiency information sessions in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in November and March. The next event will include a mix of government and utility incentive programs, case studies and best practices, and technical information as well as taskforce business.
