There are a number of provincial and federal incentive programs to help businesses realize their full economic potential while strengthening their environmental performance.

1. Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) program:
Business Development Program (BDP) - provides interest-free financing to organizations, including non-profits, who are seeking to perform a variety of projects that work to improve the competitive position of the organization including expansion, marketing and training.
2. Efficiency Nova Scotia programs:
Business Energy Rebates - provides rebates for energy efficient upgrades.
Commercial and Industrial Custom Electrical Efficiency program - provides significant financial incentives to help industrial and commercial customers to reduce their electrical consumption.
Part of the Solution - will send professional installers to replace inefficienct products with ones that will help save energy (e.g., CFL bulbs, occupancy sensors, programmable thermostats)
Small Business Lighting Solutions - program offering a low cost solution to lighting upgrades.
3. Resource Recovery Funding Board programs:
Research and Development Program - provides research funding support to investigate, design, and develop materials that incorporate solid waste resources, technologies that facilitate separation and recovery of solid waste resources, and enhanced market opportunities for solid waste resources and recycled materials.
Value Added Manufacturing Program - encourages companies to create value added products from materials recovered from waste streams.
